Matteo Molinari Autumn/Winter 2014
The Matteo Molinari Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is developed around the basics of the male wardrobe such as: double-breasted coats, duffle coats, tailored jackets and trousers, trench coats, blousons and crisp shirts. As for the palette, it is built up on the austerity of the colour black, matched with mute colours such as various shades of grey,
military green and white.
The inspiration and influences came from military garments reinvented by the British youth industrial subculture of the late seventies and early eighties in England.
Experimental music artists like Throbbing Gristle embodied the strong contrast between rules and discipline (represented by their military style) and the subversive energy and rage of the young artists trapped in the grey and doomed East London of the early Eighties.
